Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a anchor of the morning news and as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. The journalist's report on the lack of response of the police in response to DUI cases in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time at Charleston reporting and anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station, before transferring over to Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor during weekends. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
